The History of Smokn BBQ: 25+ YEARS LATER

 As all things start in the beginning we all BBQ and our "1" goal was didn't burn the meat. (You all have heard that)   In 2001 I did my 1st. BBQ contest placed 17th over all.   2002 & 2003 We placed 1st. to 3rd category winner , 2002-2nd place over all.  It cost a great amount of money to do the contest so we have had our fun & no longer go for bragging rights.  I still have a large group of friends in contests, but now I just judge the best of the bests BBQ.   (twist my arm & bring it on)                                  

Smoking meats & catering BBQ is something we enjoy, we also enjoy the people & friends we meet.
2003 was our 1st year vending & catering.  We had several events that year , and did very well for newcomers.
My wife Karen & daughter Jacqueline worked serving from the trailer.  As I  help out & smoke the products we serve.
Our son Bruce & I built a larger Mobile smoker in 2004( he does all of our S.S. & fab. work).  As we quickly found out in 2003 we didn’t have the cooking space that was needed for our sales. "Thanks to all of you for that"                                                   

2007 We added a new 14' Catering Trailer & delivery SUV for serving you  "Kettle Corn & Cotton Candy" Flavored Freezie drinks can also be use with your party call and book early.                                                                                                              

Smokn BBQ 2008 season went very well.  Even tho the years economy was hard for everyone, our BBQ found a number of new clients which was largely do too your referrals. Your many fine comments  in many ways are worth more than any business could  hope for.  Our family enjoy your kindness in serving you the public, we look forward to more years of being your food providers.  It is with great joy that we are able to serve you. And by your word of mouth, we have grown in the past 7 years. 

Karen & I are both registered GOBS BBQ Judges.  I received my Masters KCBS BBQ Judge cert. in 2005

2009 was another great year, and even more so receiving  "Best of Co. Bluffs 2009 BBQ Award"
